HOW TO BOOK YOUR IELTS TEST
A step-by-step booking guide
Touchstone Educationals France – IDP IELTS Official Test Centre
Booking your IELTS test takes only a few minutes. Follow the fourteen steps below. Keep two things ready before you start: a valid passport or national ID, and your institution’s booking code (if your institution has one) so your reduced fee is applied. Watch the full booking video here:
STEP 1 Start your booking:
Open the booking link https://bxsearch.ielts.idp.com/wizard and click “Find an IELTS test session”. You can take the test on computer or paper and get your results typically within 1–5 days.
STEP 2 Choose your test type:
Select the test type as per your needs.
STEP 3 Select your test format:
Choose “IELTS on Computer”. You complete Listening, Reading and Writing on a computer at the test centre.
STEP 4 Select your Writing test format:
Choose “Writing on Computer” so that the whole written test is completed on computer.
STEP 5 Select your location:
Choose your country and city to find the test centre nearest to you —for Paris, select France and Paris.
STEP 6 Pick a date:
Select the date that suits you. You can book a test date up to 3 months in advance, so choose a date that leaves you enough time to prepare.
STEP 7 Choose your test session:
The available sessions at Touchstone Educationals France (5 rue Broussais, Paris) are displayed with the date, start time and fee. Click “Select and continue” on the session that suits you.
STEP 8 Confirm your session and tell us who the booking is for:
Check the confirmed times for Listening, Reading and Writing, and for your Speaking test (click “Change” if you prefer another slot). Then select “I’m booking for myself (I am 18 or older)” — or the parent/guardian option for someone under 18 — and click “Next step”.
STEP 9 Sign in or create your IDP IELTS account:
Enter your ESSEC official email address to sign in or sign up. If you have booked an IELTS test before, use the same email address as before.
STEP 10 Set up your account:
Fill in your personal details — name, gender, date of birth and mobile number —exactly as they appear on your ID document, then create a password.
STEP 11 Complete your profile:
Add your education details: level of education, years studying English and first language. These are used for registration statistics only and do not affect your result.
STEP 12 Add your identification document:
Enter your passport (or national ID) details: type, nationality, number, expiry date and issuing authority. Make sure the ID is valid on your test day — you must bring the same document (original) to the test centre.
STEP 13 Enter your voucher / booking code:
On the review page, type your institution’s booking code into the “Voucher code” box and click “Apply”. Your reduced fee will be applied and shown in the payment details. Check all your details carefully using the “Edit” buttons before continuing.
STEP 14 Accept the terms and pay:
Read and agree to the IELTS terms and conditions and tick the box to confirm, then click “Confirm and proceed with payment” to pay securely online. You will receive a booking confirmation by email.
